Brasserie Belge, opposite Brussels-Midi station
Brasserie Belge is a large dining room and a terrace opposite Brussels-Midi station, open from the first coffee in the morning to the last drink at night.
You will meet travellers between two trains, Saint-Gilles locals, colleagues after work and groups from all over Europe.
Right opposite the station
Place Victor Horta 16-18, in Saint-Gilles: the brasserie is directly opposite Brussels-Midi station (Brussels South), at the Place Victor Horta exit. No car to park: you step out of the station and you are there. The large dining room suits a lunch on your own as well as a table of colleagues, and the terrace looks onto the square. Arriving by train or heading for one? Bring your luggage, there is room.
What people come here to eat
In the kitchen, the Belgian classics: mussels, Flemish stew, croquettes, vol-au-vent, Liège waffles, but also pasta, salads and burgers. At the bar, eight beers on tap and the great Trappists.
Mussels come plain, in garlic cream or in white wine, always with fries. The Flemish stew simmers in beer, the vol-au-vent remains the great classic of Belgian brasseries, and the Liège waffle comes plain, with chocolate or with whipped cream. For those who skip the mussels: pasta, salads, salmon, fish & chips and burgers. On tap, eight Belgian beers, from Maes to Chouffe; in bottles, Chimay, Westmalle, Orval and Rochefort. Not sure? Ask us, we will point you to the right one for your taste.
